Learning About Emergency Electrical Services

Hello, my name is Silas Perdue. Welcome to my website about emergency electrician services. My old home frequently has power outages due to the improper operation of my lighting system. I had an electrician come by to take a look and was notified that a full overhaul was in order. Unfortunately, I waited too long to have that work done and was faced in an emergency electrical problem. On this site, I want to help everyone understand how to spot emergency electrical issues. I will share information you need to know about this topic on a daily basis. Please feel free to come by anytime if you want to learn more.

Electrical Jobs 101: Money Matters Faqs

You have been considering going back to school to further your career, and you believe a trade school is a good idea. Obtaining your trade certification as an electrician will yield you many new job opportunities, but there are a lot of things people who are considering this line of work want to know, especially about money. Take a look at some of the most common things people who are considering electrical jobs want to know.

In what areas do electricians make the most money?

The average salary of an electrician can range pretty dramatically from state to state, and it is for that very reason that a lot of electricians will choose to take their professional services to another place to make more money. Hawaii is the state where electricians tend to make the most money. The average salary for a basic electrician in the state is $77,990. If you prefer to stay inland, however, there are a few other states where your skills will yield you a similar income, such as Illinois and New York.

Do electricians make more money annually than plumbers?

Often linked in nature, plumbing and electrical work do have similar attributes, and both of these fields require extensive training and knowledge. However, electricians do tend to make slightly more money than plumbers on average. Electrical work involves a certain level of safety risks that plumbing does not, which means most electricians will charge more for their services, and even in workplace environments, electricians tend to earn more. According to Chron, the lowest 10 percent of electricians, perhaps those who are just starting out, will make about $30,420 per year, and this is actually slightly more than what the lowest-income plumbers will make at $29,020 per year.

Do electricians make more on their own or with a company?

Those electricians who operate their own businesses can sometimes end up earning more money than electricians who work specifically with one company. Being on your own as a contractor offering electrical services allows you the freedom to pick and choose jobs that you want to do and charge what you think is fair for your services. If you work directly with a company, you are limited to earning the hourly wage or salary that they provide. Therefore, many electricians do choose to work on their own or build their own electrician business and hire others onto their team.
